Wikitravellers can now publish a MicroID on their user page that asserts their identity to external services like ClaimID. Help:MicroID (not to be confused with OpenID) is a Web standard for associating a particular person with a particular user account. Other Web services like del.icio.us and Last.fm support MicroIDs; now, we do too.
For privacy reasons, MicroIDs are disabled by default. If you want to use them, go to Special:Preferences, and the "Misc" tab, to publish your MicroID. You have to have an email address configured with your account, too. --Evan 14:20, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
