So, I think this is a great idea. Just out of curiosity, is there a printed Hungarian travel guide series? --Evan 23:03, 24 Apr 2004 (EDT)

Yepp, Panoráma travel guide series from the 80's... Really bad ones, because they were not intended to be used on the travel, but sitting at home, and read about interesting places... Haha, communist times... They were reprinted many times, but the content is almost the same. bujatt 18:34, 28 September 2006 (EDT)

Hello, what is the next step to start Hungarian Wikitravel? Lacisoft 06:37, 6 October 2006 (EDT)

I am waiting for Evan's answer, but according to policy [1] first we should translate the main pages and language files. -- Bujatt 07:32, 6 October 2006 (EDT)
So, I'm working on getting the site set up right now. It should be about an hour. I'll leave it unlocked, and you can start working on it. When you feel like it's ready, make an announcement. Sound good? --Evan 13:17, 6 October 2006 (EDT)
OK, so, we're up and ready to go. The site is active; it just needs some content. Bujatt, when you've set up an account, let me know, and I'll make you an admin. I don't think I got the LanguageHu.php file in correctly, but you can fix up translation stuff using hu:Speciális:Allmessages. Let me know if you have any questions. Once you're ready, someone should put a notice on the log here at shared: and on en: to let people know that it's alive. Then, all that's left is building a community and writing great travel guides! --Evan 13:52, 6 October 2006 (EDT)

I have started to translate Expedition page into Hungarian, see hu:Magyar Wikitravel Expedíció. --Bujatt 15:34, 7 October 2006 (EDT)

Hungarian Wikitravel is dead[edit]

As anybody can see there is no activity in the Hungarian Wikitravel, only few vandals, spammer, etc. No new articles in the last 10 months! The condition of the HuWikiTravel is discrace for the community. I think it's time to close or hang up this abandoned project. Any opinion? 16:49, 12 August 2010 (EDT)

Yeah, it's quite dead. On the upside, the fact that reCAPTCHA is required for anon editing has stopped most of the junk, making the project very easy to look after (it took me five minutes to patrol a month of edits—and I don't speak Hungarian!). My hope is that leaving it up might some day attract a contributor to clean up some of the damage done when nobody was watching over it. --Peter Talk 15:19, 13 August 2010 (EDT)
