Zagłębie Dąbrowskie is a region in Eastern part of Silesian Voivodeship.
Although it's located in Silesian voivodeship, it's historically a part of Western Lesser Poland. From late middle ages to end of 18 century most of parts of Zagłębie belonged to Siewierskie Duchy governed by bishops of Cracow. Sławków region was a part of Sławkowski Key also governed by bishops of Cracow. Other parts belonged to Polish Crown. During partition of Poland much of it belogned to Congress Poland which was a part of Russian Empire, exception Jaworzno, which was a part of Austrian Empire. Mining was a main economy branch for ages. Nowadays Zagłębie Dąbrowskie becomes more and more growing tourist destination.
People in bigger cities or popular tourist destinations can speak at least one foreign language. Polish phrasebook can be useful while visiting smaller towns or villages.
The closest airport's located in nearby Pyrzowice.
