The Western Tarai consists of the western part of the Tarai Mountain Range in Nepal.



  • Bhairahawa - also known as Siddharthanagar
  • Bharatpur - one of the fastest growing cities of Nepal, often called Narayangadh
  • Debichaur
  • Kapilvastu - a region of ancient Shakya kingdom that is considered a holy pilgrimage place for Buddhists, it's headquarters is the town of Taulihawa
  • Lumbini - birth place of Buddha
  • Nepalganj
  • Sauraha - the eastern gateway to Chitwan National Park and jungle safaris
