Versilia

Versilia is a region in the province of Lucca in Tuscany, Italy. Situated on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, it is popular among both Italians and foreigners as a beach destination. The most famous town in Versilia is Viareggio.

On the coast, seafood is obviously the greatest treat. As you go further inlands there will be less fish and more chestnuts. The high-quality local olive oil is an important ingredient in Versilian cuisine.
