Wow! Thanks for all your contributions to Turkey. I guess we're a little late with the official welcome, but here goes:

Hello Vidimian! Welcome to Wikitravel.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If I can be of any help, don't hesitate to ask. -- OldPine 19:55, 12 February 2008 (EST)

Thank you. I've been reading Wikitravel for a long time but I've recently started writing seriously. I guess I can find out how to do but thanks for your suggestions anyway.--Vidimian 20:38, 12 February 2008 (EST)

Great work on Turkey, keep it up! I look forward to using it in July. Jpatokal 07:58, 26 March 2008 (EDT)
Thank you. I hope you'll find it useful and enjoy your trip. --Vidimian 08:01, 26 March 2008 (EDT)

Thanks for all of your cleanups and updates to add Template:isPartOf and WikiPedia links. One tip - Template:isPartOf is preferred to Template:isIn since it doesn't require any escaping, meaning that something like {{isPartOf|South (United States of America)}} is totally valid. -- Ryan • (talk) • 20:44, 19 February 2009 (EST)

No problem! I just happen to have some free time. I prefer isin over ispartof just because it's shorter and quicker to type, but I'll try to use ispartof more often from now on.--Vidimian 20:48, 19 February 2009 (EST)

Central Anatolia borders

If we need to define the borders more clearly for Central Anatolia before getting the map finished, then lets do so! Is there a discussion started already? --Peter Talk 00:16, 23 March 2009 (EDT)

There will be one in a minute or two. I need some time to put it clearly in English.--Vidimian 00:54, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
Discussion is here.--Vidimian 01:28, 23 March 2009 (EDT)

Turkey regions map

Hey, I finally finished that regions map for Turkey! Do you have any suggestions for improvements? Roads to be added/removed, cities that should be displayed, etc. --Peter Talk 00:43, 8 June 2009 (EDT)

I think it's pretty much OK. I especially liked your selection of "other destinations" - may Ephesus and Pamukkale added as other destinations too if they won't clutter the map? D400 -the highway running along the Med coast- may also be added, it possesses some touristical importance and right now it looks like there is no major highway along the length of a third of that coast. Just adding a line along the coast would do that fine. And there is a typo at Doğebeyazıt - it should be Doğubeyazıt.--Vidimian 04:59, 8 June 2009 (EDT)
Added and fixed. Let me know if you have any other suggestions/critiques! --Peter Talk 05:21, 8 June 2009 (EDT)

Thanks a lot for listingifying at Bangkok/Sukhumvit! It is much appreciated :) --globe-trotter 19:34, 5 February 2010 (EST)

No problem! I'll do some more throughout the month.—Vidimian 20:15, 5 February 2010 (EST)
Again thanks! Only Sukhumvit and Silom left :) --globe-trotter 19:07, 14 February 2010 (EST)
Yes, I've noticed that. You are so quick that I'd like to listingify a few more listings before you went through the rest—that was the reason why I did a bunch more tonight :) —Vidimian 19:43, 14 February 2010 (EST)

I wanted to say thank you very much for all your help with regionalisation discussion and implementation, particularly for southeastern Europe. Absolutely invaluable. You are probably aware of our mission to conquer the world :), and you will see that after the recent push, there is very little left to do in Europe. Indeed, there is relatively little left to do period, and the end is in sight for what was a truly mammoth task. Your help is especially appreciated in this field, as there are few Wikitravellers willing to to do the rather unglamorous region-related work.--Burmesedays 09:29, 27 April 2010 (EDT)

It is a pleasure for me to help on regionalizing work :). Yes, I am well aware of the expedition, and in fact I've tried to do a couple of Turkish regions maps (not really related to this particular "conquering the world" project at the moment) but just couldn't figure out how to use Inkscape in the end, so I guess I won't be able to help with actual drawing of the maps, at least in a foreseeable future. As to what I can do/have done to help the expedition, as you possibly have already noticed, I try to join discussions on regionalizing whenever I spot them on recent changes or the expedition page (so those "see discussion" links next to the country names are really useful!) if I feel like joining the discussion; and I try to clean up country articles after the regionalization is implemented (descriptions, moves, redirects, breadcrumbs etc). Is there any particular discussion or particular regionalization work I can help at the moment? – Vidimian 09:51, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
As for discussion, I think we are almost there, bar for small islands.
  • Two major countries which may still present some issues are Portugal (been a problem child for a long time) and Panama (I think there are too many proposed regions - they outnumber the city articles).
  • Guatemala is a major outstanding country - the regions seem sensible but I have no idea where the borders should be set. Additionally the country article is in a bit of a state.
  • I have just finished Slovakia and I am sure the regions could use some better descriptions etc....--Burmesedays 11:35, 27 April 2010 (EDT)
I have pushed on with the Bosnia map as per Stefan's scheme at Talk:Bosnia and Herzegovina#Regions, and ought to have it finished within a day or 2. If you wanted to start the regionalisation work as per that scheme, then the timing would be excellent. I will chip in as well of course but help would be much appreciated. --Burmesedays 00:59, 3 May 2010 (EDT)
OK, I am starting right away. – Vidimian 05:18, 3 May 2010 (EDT)
Great stuff and thanks very much. Map is now added to the article. Works well I think.--Burmesedays 11:23, 3 May 2010 (EDT)
Yes, the map is great! Cheers. – Vidimian 14:38, 3 May 2010 (EDT)

Eğer mümkünse Türkçe Wikitravel sayfasının nasıl açılacağını bana izah edebilir misiniz?Ben Türkçe kodlama sürümünün çevirisini yaptım, tabi bazı ufak tefek hatalarla. Sanırım bu sayfa yardımcı olacaktır. ~~hasan_travel~~
