Hello Ravikiran r!
Welcome to Wikitravel. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.
I see you have been a registered user for over a month and haven't been welcomed yet. Thank you for contributing to Karnataka and reviewing the India article. Please plunge forward and make the Hindu Holidays conform to reality. If its obviously wrong, correct it, then explain if you need to. -- Huttite 16:12, 13 Jan 2005 (EST)

Reverting unwanted edits
Hi Ravikiran, re: your comments on the Wikitravel:Votes for deletion page, you did the right thing. The redirect is now a candidate for deletion since the original editor's page move was, well, misguided might be one way of putting it. Keep up your good work - your contributions thus far have been excellent. -- Wrh2 02:47, 7 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Thanks for the links. I am new to Wikitravel, so please guide me, and inform me if you find anything wrong with my postings. Thank you once again...
Sorry — I meant to only revert the attribution, not the entire image, but the nifty admin 'rollback' link reverts all edits by the previous user, not just the last one. Fixed now, let's continue the attribution discussion on Wikitravel talk:Image policy. Jpatokal 04:47, 6 Oct 2005 (EDT)
Thanks for clearing up Pondicherry (city)... I noticed the website in the history, but I guess I didn't dig around enough on the website to notice the copy vio. I thought it might have been... -- Ilkirk 20:12, 13 Nov 2005 (EST)
Calcutta vs Kolkata
Hi Ravikiran. I notice Evan's reasons for not changing the name used in Wikitravel from Calcutta to Kolkata were given in Feb 2004 - almost two years ago (ref: Calcutta Talk). I am currently in Kolkata/Calcutta and can categorically state that the title Calcutta is obslete here. Internationally, however, Calcutta may still be the most commonly used name. If that is the case, then Evan's argument still stands. However, I think that it may be time for review. Apologies for changing the title without due consideration of the policy.
