:Pretty please? Everyone seems really anxious to start rolling this out, but I want to make sure our strongest contributors like you are behind this, since it may very well sweep the site. Saw you made a map of Kurils when I searched though Wikimedia commons, and was just wondering if you have any SVG with an outline of Sakhalin island itself lying around, that I could develop on? --Stefan (sertmann) <small>Talk</small> 19:35, 10 December 2008 (EST)

: OK, spend the better part of day doing some research on Okha, in an attempt to get the last two cities up to usable status. And I was wondering if you could lend me your Russian skills, and write [email protected], if we could get permission to upload a few of the surprisingly good images at http://oxa.nar(spamfilter) under a CC licence - from the google translated version I understand that they are mainly interested in receiving due credit anyway. I don't know, maybe also ask them if they could supply some entries for some cafes and restaurants, as there are none listed online. --Stefan (sertmann) <small>Talk</small> 10:17, 14 December 2008 (EST)

Hi Peter,
I added Cuzco and Manila on the Wikitravel:Collaboration_of_the_week but they didn't show up on the page. When I edit the text I can see my addins. What is wrong? Thanks, jan 14:47, 16 December 2008 (EST)

Hey, Peter!  I just found this thing, and Im wondering if it's you, [].  Sorry, I just found it odd.  [[User:Edmontonenthusiast|<font color="#339989">edmontonenthusiast [ee]</font>]] <small><font color="#8848d7">.T.A.L.K.</font></small> 21:32, 16 December 2008 (EST).
Medellin
Peter, thanks for your encouragement on the work for the page. Medellín is a nice city and deserves a Wikitravel article to match.
Hi Peter
I am just wondering, as Edmonton is supposidly CotM next month, will the new format via CotMs change Edmonton being the next CotM because I am getting stuff ready for it and am kind of excited - I mean I hope to make it quite successful.  Or, will it just fit into the regular format for the new style?  I hope you see where I am coming from and I am totally  sorry if this was already brought up as I may have forggotten/didnt read parts.  Sorry!  [[User:Edmontonenthusiast|<font color="#339989">edmontonenthusiast [ee]</font>]] <small><font color="#8848d7">.T.A.L.K.</font></small> 17:32, 18 December 2008 (EST).
:So willl there even be a CotM next month, I mean if it is coming up next week, it is a short voting time for one next month and you should know at least a day in advance.  [[User:Edmontonenthusiast|<font color="#339989">edmontonenthusiast [ee]</font>]] <small><font color="#8848d7">.T.A.L.K.</font></small> 10:38, 19 December 2008 (EST).
Lookiing at that Cotm page and your formula for Mexico City, I can honestly say that three nominations have been made already that look similar to that format for noms: Copenhagen, Calgary, and Edmonton.  Although, quite honestly I see where you are changing things, I mean the current format only requires a basic list.  It will be also good because the people nominating will have to put work into noms which make it not get spammed as easily and shows the people really care, good work.  [[User:Edmontonenthusiast|<font color="#339989">edmontonenthusiast [ee]</font>]] <small><font color="#8848d7">.T.A.L.K.</font></small> 15:08, 19 December 2008 (EST).

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your tactful direction.  I guess that was a bit presumptuous to change the heading.  Just getting started here.
Please explain to me the reason for not allowing the link to  Is this because it is a portal?  It appears that links to internal pages are permitted?
Thanks again!

Manager
Hi Peter!  I remember you saying in the CotM page that we will need someone to manage the CotM system when the new system is impleneted.  I was wondering if I could do that.  But before I fully agree or anything, would you mind throwing out some of the stuff I would do?  I mean, to me, it sounds like an interesting thing to do, but I wanna know what I am getting into.  What do you think?  I could do well, and be fair!  [[User:Edmontonenthusiast|<font color="#339989">edmontonenthusiast [ee]</font>]] <small><font color="#8848d7">.T.A.L.K.</font></small> 15:21, 19 December 2008 (EST).
:Edmontonenthusiast, I just want to point out that you'd have no control over anything really.  If someone else came along and decided to update it before you or make changes to something, then that's how it works - the wiki way.  Plus, you don't really have to commit to anything, because you do what you can and if you can't do it sometimes then someone else will pick up the pieces.  It must really be cold in Canada if it's this cold (just south), so have a fun and cold day!  -- Sapphire • <small>(Talk)</small> • 16:06, 19 December 2008 (EST)
::Hey, thanks, I didn't mean it in a "controlling" way, just someone who manages it and makes sure everything is properly done and is going by the rules, etc.  But thankyou.  LOL - about the cold.  Actually it isn't too cold here, well it is, but not as bad as Las Vegas and St. Louis are getting lol!  But Toronto is getting pretty hard as that's where the storms headed and there's been so many flight cancellations.  Edmonton is at  -25°C, I don't know what that is in farenheit, but it's just a little below our average for right now (-16°C).  Honestly, here, if you bundle up, you should be fine, as long as there is no wind (or under 20 k/hour)- that's when it is bloody murder.  Thanks, you have a awesome chilly day too!  [[User:Edmontonenthusiast|<font color="#339989">edmontonenthusiast [ee]</font>]] <small><font color="#8848d7">.T.A.L.K.</font></small> 16:13, 19 December 2008 (EST).

Vladivostok map
From one Russo-phile to another, could you add a map of central Vladivostok to your queue? I don't think I'll be able to raise it to guide status for lack of Buy, Eat, and Drink options - I was there more than four years ago, and didn't do much of the three - but I think it could become a pretty useful article for travelers. Gorilla Jones 21:59, 21 December 2008 (EST)
: Yeah, it's in good shape. I would cut it: north where Aleutskaya curves into Oktoberskaya (or even a block or two before, if necessary), east where Korabelskaya ends, and south a little way below the train station...perhaps where Naberezhnaya comes in from the sea. (West, obviously, is the sea.) Does that make sense? A couple of sights will be left out, but that's all right. Thanks! Gorilla Jones 23:40, 21 December 2008 (EST)
Internal compasses and all that.
Hi peter,
Thanks for your comment.
Montreal is a unique city European by nature and just a bit offset. Although we do our best to make tourists as comfortable as possible, notwithstanding the snow, if you ask directions they will be based on our skewed compass.
When can I expect a visit from you?

District map for Detroit
Hey, Peter! Detroit needs a map for its districts. I see that you've made some, such as the Chicago one, and I was wondering if you could create one for Detroit? == I just wanted to give you my reasoning and a small question ==
Hopefully, this doesn't come across as anything wrong.  I don't see how it would.  Anyways, the point of me not reading everything relevent to helping me understand a topic in travelers pub is because, well, I don't have the time and I would be completely bored.  Besides, I said I would read some of it.  I shouldn't have to be bored or feel like I need to read certain things ... rules aside.  There is just too much reading because I looked at it and I would rather be doing other Wikitravel stuff, or, well, living my life.  Anyways, you probably wonder why I am telling you this...well just cause you reverted the comment in travelers pub so maybe you didn't understand myside.  Anyways, I also have a question.  Why did that coment get reverted?  I don't see why it was harmful or waseful or bad or against rules.  So - to help me for future reference could you please help me by explaining - that would be really appreciated.  Hope it's cleared up and we don't get into arguements.  [[User:Edmontonenthusiast|<font color="#339989">edmontonenthusiast [ee]</font>]] <small><font color="#8848d7">.T.A.L.K.</font></small> 21:37, 30 December 2008 (EST).
: Peter's not going to answer you, but I will.  Simply put, the topic of the article headings has been discussed to death, and you're wasting everybody else's time if you don't even have the common courtesy to read and understand what the current consensus is before spouting off your own opinions.  And whining about how it's "boring" or how you don't "have time to" or you "shouldn't have to" read it is even more obnoxious; everybody else participating did it, so put up or shut up.
