Hi Orcrist,

I don't think we have communicated before, so this may come as a bit of a surprise. I am writing to you to make sure that you are aware of the planned mass migration by most, if not all, of the Wikitravel Admins and many of the users to a proposed new site hosted by Wikimedia. A description of the developments can be seen at http://wikivoyage.org/general/Migration_FAQ

Feel free to contact me for more information, either by e-mail through Wikitravel, or on my talk page.

I noticed that you have not been welcomed yet, so here it is:

Hello, Orcrist! Welcome to Wikitravel.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

Lots of good work from you on several Japan articles. Much appreciated, please keep it up!, --ClausHansen 07:51, 13 May 2010 (EDT)

Thanks!

I'm planning a trip (perhaps to to Yurihonjo) and your information in that article is incredible. Thank you so much for putting some much time into make sure there's such a solid English language (and freely available!) source online. Maybe if you're around in January this year and if we manage to make it through, I could take you out for a beer in thanks! --Benjamin Mako Hill 00:38, 11 November 2011 (EST)
