Hello, Jiang! I can't remember if I ever welcomed you to Wikitravel. If not, please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thanks for fiddling with the China maps. It can be such a hassle dealing with the CIA data, which don't usually have the traveller's best interest at heart. It's good to call a spade a spade -- after all, the traveller comes first.

Not a lot of other folks are messing with maps yet, either. I think there's a lot of work to be done to get the Mapmaking Expedition off the ground. I hadn't really thought about it, but it might be useful to convert the PostScript source data for the CIA Factbook maps into SVG... hmm.

Anyways, thanks again. --Evan 20:27, 4 Dec 2003 (PST)

Thanks for the welcome. I'm very unskilled with this digital imaging stuff. I recolored parts of the China map using "primative" technology. The country template seems to leave out the CIA maps. Why? Are there plans to reinsert the maps after they're edited? --Jiang 01:07, 5 Dec 2003 (PST)
