I have one question. Yesterday I was working with Salta province on Wikitravel and had made very little changes in Cities section. I wrote only one sentence about the capital and resorted the cities. Finally, after the saving, I got result what not satisfy me. I was reverted 5 steps back instead of getting the progress. I did not put any actions for reverting! So, why happens such things? I would like to know the reason, because I noticed reverting process even earlier.  Ryte  24 February 2021

::Giulio, I am caught on Ruta 40 with reverting back. There is conclusion why: The edit could not be undone due to conflicting intermediate edits. Is it possible to delete first two entries (I think here is the reason, why I can not revert)? Or there are other ways to solve the problem? Ryte  4 March 2021

:::Hi Ryte, yes, you can undo these last two edits (on top of the list https://wikitravel.org/wiki/en/index.php?title=Ruta_40&action=history ). The conflict goes when you try to undo other edits not starting from the last one. Example: undoing edits from February 5th and 1st is not possible. I hope it's clear, let me know. Hi again, I got the above taken care of without trouble, but please now tell me something for the following. I noticed someone made a page for the town of Misumi, but actually that town was absorbed into another city Uki about 16 (!!) years ago. How do I have the contents moved over, or to have the original page Misumi deleted? (Actually I am noticing some people have made a lot of these bare bones pages with virtually no content). Thanks. Hi, thanks. OK I moved the info I can verify and added what I could; some of it was so poorly written and vague I can't tell what the first writer was referring to 15+ years ago. I can't make the redirect myself however - it says the page already exists which I know. Could you please delete the pages for Misumi as well as Shiranuhi so a redirect can be put in its place please? Thanks so much. Hello Giulio,
 +
I saw Madagascar needs changes, the island of 2000km long.
 +
1.There is no more provinces in all. Look more here at the table. All administrative divisions became smaller by area. I think it would be OK to leave the same Wikitravel regions division. So, Antananarivo and the 2 more Provinces need renaming or redirection.

2. Antsiranana  or Fianarantsoa  opens as the region or city, everything is mixed.

Regional List
Hi... I noticed a lot of work was done for Kyoto making subpages since there is so much in the city. But on the main page nobody ever bothered to put up a regional list - there are just some links and it looks a lot less likely that anybody would ever find the detailed info, like you see on Tokyo. I think there are 5 areas - N,S,E,W, and Central - and those pages are already there and look pretty good. How about a regional list? It seems to require a map to show the divisions, which I don't really have the technical knowledge to create, but on the discussion page someone already made one years ago. Could that be used? Could you please give your input and set it up?  Thanks.

Welcome[edit]

Hello, GiulioC! Welcome to Wikitravel.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. IBAlex 15:35, 20 March 2013 (EDT)

alert on a troll in Australia[edit]

Be advised a troll named DonSantiagoAU has not only threatened the integrity of the page with fake edits, blanking, and using IPs to abused editing but is also trying to to delete information he doesn't like and is resorting to personal attacks against me on the Australia talk page. Tut (talk)

I'm sorry but I can't tell whether those edits are fake or not since I'm not familiar with LGBTQ issues in Australia. Please use Australia's talk page to discuss those edits. GiulioC (talk) 11:37, 31 December 2020 (EST)

Video clip[edit]

Hello Giulio,

So, I have a problem.
The second day I am not OK with Wikitravel. Yesterday(01.13) I saw how it was broken, because I was on the editing. Now on Wikitravel page constantly jumps Video Clip from the very famous travel company. It would be more like as adds. This appears on Wikitravel page almost in the all sections. Exception only the Wikitravel main page and Recent changes.
This jumping video clip disturbs on working with Wikitravel editions. When I open any city, this video (about 10x15 cm size) jumps in the central position in the area of Understand.
What to do with this? Does it act as the virus or it was vandal work?
It really makes impossible to work on Wikitravel editings and the readings also. On the other side, how Wikitravel page deals with other any user of it? I think somebody sees the same.
To show printscreen in this post no possibility. Tried to write email have the non working address. (Ryte)

Hi Ryte, we're looking into this issue. Hopefully it will be solved soon. Sorry for the inconvenience! GiulioC (talk) 14:42, 14 January 2021 (EST)
Hi Ryte, I'm working with tech to resolve this as quickly as possible. Our plan is to turn those adverts off for all logged-in users, pretty much immediately. IBJoel (talk) 14:46, 14 January 2021 (EST)
It is good, that you known this problem. (Ryte)
Thank you for the problem solution! (Ryte)

Page needs renaming[edit]

Hi, sorry to bother you but I can't find any place to address this question. I don't want to have a page deleted, but there is one page for a national park in Japan that has been sitting as deadwood for many years now, most likely because the name of the park was changed almost 10 years ago. I have made some initial edits on Kirishima-Yaku_National_Park and I am willing to turn the whole thing into something worth reading. But before I commit several hours of my life to it, I don't want the time wasted on something nobody will ever read because they wouldn't look for something using an obsolete name. So how do we go about updating the name for a place? Also, if I may suggest, if you have a question in the FAQ on how to have a page deleted, perhaps it would be good to have a question on how a place is renamed? Thanks.
