Galveston fiasco[edit]

Galveston and Galveston, Texas are circular redirects. For some reason, we can't edit either page to fix this problem, so a vfd was set up to kill one of the pages. But it turns out I can't delete either page. Looks to me like some SQL foo needs to be employed by the DB Administrator. Good luck, DBA guy! -- Colin 20:52, 7 May 2005 (EDT)

Information section[edit]

(copied from Wikitravel talk:Article templates)

I would suggest to use "Information" section to the article. This coulc contain Tourist Offices, Money&Exchange, Bookstores, Libraries, magazines listing actual events and everything related to getting information. (Also good guidebooks.) If you prefer verb tense it could be Get informed. It could also include "Contact" section (which I would prefer to call "Communication") with Phone, Post&Mail, Email&Internet etc. bujatt 01:20, 18 May 2005 (EDT)

Evan, The BroadVoice Wiki is just starting up, but we've begun to be hit by evil wikispam. I'm having trouble finding information about the MediaWiki solutions, so I'm curious to know what you've been using as an extention. Thanks, Marsh

Two Birmingham (UK) Articles[edit]

As I have written on Wikitravel:Votes_for_deletion#December 2004, there are two very similar articles on Birmingham (UK): "Birmingham" and "Birmingham_(Midlands)". I am happy to combine them and leave one as a redirect, but is there any way to keep the info (history) of who wrote what, or will we just have to lose some of it? -- DanielC 14:46, 21 May 2005 (EDT)

Interesting place names[edit]

Is there any place in WikiTravel where there is an article on interesting or unusual place names? In ND, I have come across three, so far. Zap, Anamoose and Max. Stavp 01:38, 23 May 2005 (EDT)

Map Links[edit]

why don`t you like the map links I took the time to add some days ago?

Michael [email protected]

It's not that I don't like them. They just don't fit in with our rules for external links. --Evan
