Hello, ClausHansen! Welcome to Wikitravel.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thanks for your work on districting Beijing! Jpatokal 23:15, 1 March 2009 (EST)

And the most impressive work on filling content into the districts, very very nice work. --Stefan (sertmann) Talk 10:10, 6 April 2009 (EDT)
Hope you don't mind my piling on with another me too—you are doing really great work, thank you. To my eyes, the Beijing guide is already far more useful and usable. --Peter Talk 03:17, 7 April 2009 (EDT)
Do you live in BJ too? What sites do you copy information from to post on wikiTravel?

Qingdao Wikitravel

Hi Claus,

Thanks for the additions and keep up the good work it is much needed. My concern is that if times, dates, or details of events are placed on WikiTravel then the cite to where the information came from should also be included. Original and current information on the Qingdao Beer Festival[1] came from the source cited. In fact, last year the beer festival was NOT held during the normal dates due to the Olympic Sailing Regatta and Qingdao China Guide was the first to make this information public.

The YinHai International Yacht & Sailing Club[2] details regarding the ferry to Huangdao is NOT found on YinHai's web site but rather on Qingdao China Guide, which is the original source of the information regarding the ferry to Huangdao.

Thanks again for your help.

From what sites did you get your statistical data (specifically the bus stop information) on wikiTravel Qingdao? Have you ever traveled to QD? If so, when? Can you read/write Chinese? If not, where do you copy the Chinese from to paste in wikiTravel?

Qingdao Eat section

Hey there. I put the style tag on there because the section should be organized into our standard three price range subsections (Budget, Mid-range and Splurge) rather than by cuisine type. Texugo 01:51, 27 March 2009 (EDT)

Thanks for the help on Vestegnen, adding everything/anything you might know about the area would be greatly appreciated, as this is definitely my "gray" area, growing up in Nordsjælland. With a little luck and work on this district, Frederiksberg, and the main page, we could hopefully get Copenhagen up to guide status by the end of the month, having it ready to be featured on the front page during the climate conference in December, and get a Wikitravel Press guidebook ready for the NGO's for the same occasion. --Stefan (sertmann) Talk 11:23, 7 May 2009 (EDT)

Impressive work creating all those stubs! Now just add some content to them =) Jpatokal 12:30, 10 June 2009 (EDT) I added to one of the stubs (the part of Shanghai I live in), thanks for your help cleaning it up!! 12:31, 5 September 2009 (EDT)

Image uploads

Don't know if you've seen it, but many of your image uploads have been put up for deletion, could you please leave a comment over here? If you need any help with figuring out what you can - and can not - upload from places like flickr, shout out, we'll be happy to help. --Stefan (sertmann) Talk 13:55, 1 August 2009 (EDT)

Hey Claus, the VFD page had an overhaul this weekend, and many of Beijing pictures (and Kalundborg and others) got deleted. You might want to look them over and delete the red boxes that came up. Remember when you look for images they must be licensed PD (public domain) or either CC-by (Creative Commons-attribution) or CC-by-sa (Creative Commons-attribution share alike)
On flickr, press advanced search (appears after you click search once), go to the button of the advanced search page and check all boxes in the creative commons section (only search creative commons content, use commercially and content to modify). When you find an image it is a good idea to verify the license, go the bottom of the right hand column and check there is no dollar and equation mark symbols, it might sound complicated but after a while it just becomes second nature.
On Wikipedia close to all of the images are compatible, but do a brief check anyway. --Stefan (sertmann) talk 10:25, 26 October 2009 (EDT)

Dali: Hotel du Temps Perdu

Hotel du Temps Perdu has changed ownership and no longer has an expat owner. None of the information on Wikitravel is correct (I should know, I'm the former owner who put it there in the first place:). It should be removed to avoid confusion. If you have any questions about this, please e-mail me at [email protected] or call me at +8613988414203. Thanks, and great work on the Dali page!--Htp 02:26, 12 September 2009 (EDT)

--Stefan (sertmann) Talk 16:42, 24 September 2009 (EDT)

China and Denmark

I am completely in awe of how much work you've put into China and Denmark (and then some). Here's a barnstar as a token of appreciation! Jpatokal 11:52, 22 October 2009 (EDT)

Hey Claus, anything you feel like adding to the Christiania guide? Need to get it up to guide status per the current Copenhagen Star Nomination, and I'm having problems, suggestions are also welcome. As is a comment on the star nomination page... --Stefan (sertmann) talk 09:08, 4 December 2009 (EST)

Just a quick but very large thank you Claus for all the work you ae doing on the London articles. Brilliant. --Burmesedays 10:44, 9 December 2009 (EST)

Hey Claus, it's awesome to see you adding templates to the many stub articles, thumbs up! If you feel like getting more involved in the nitty gritty bits of WT management, another task that could really use some help is the Recent changes patrol. At the moment me and Burmesedays seem to be doing the lions share of the patrolling, but the more users involved in this, the less tedious it gets - the ultimate goal is making sure every change is patrolled, and we are closer to that goal than we have been for a long time.

If you want to help, try go to your preferences (up on the top right), once there select the recent changes tab and check the "Enhanced recent changes (JavaScript)" option. If you go back to the recent changes page now, edits will be grouped together, and edits that has not yet been patrolled will be marked with a red exclamation mark on the left side of the summary. If there are any red exclamation marks try clicking on "(diff/X changes)" and above the summary you'll be able to click [Mark as patrolled] if everything is in order, or (undo) if it's spam, vandalism or touting - if unsure just leave it and someone else will come along and check it.

Ofcourse everyone one is welcome to contribute with whatever they feel like doing, just wanted to make sure you knew about his task. About a quarter sometimes up to half the edits on English wikitravel, are ones that need to be reverted, so it's pretty essential to keeping WT clean and useful for everyone.

Cheers, --Stefan (sertmann) talk 20:29, 28 December 2009 (EST)

London cotm

Since you were so instrumental in making the London cotm our most successful collaboration of all time, I thought you might like to look over the results. Thanks again for your help! --Peter Talk 14:13, 1 January 2010 (EST)

Alternative Sub-regions of Maharashtra

On Talk:Maharashtra, I have suggested alternative Sub-regions of Maharashtra that are based on 5 geographical regions, rather than 6 or soon to be 7 administrative/political divisions. You may like to comment, since you made the original proposal and reorganised the articles. - Huttite 20:30, 8 January 2010 (EST)
