Inle Heritage Foundation
Inle Heritage Foundation is an independent and not for profit organization that aim to nurture social and natural ecosystems and safeguard traditions. Inle Heritage Foundation is comprised of: a vocational school, private school, garden, fish, cats, waste and wastewater management.
They are self-funded organization that preserves the nature and culture of Inle Lake relying on the revenues generated by their activities as accommodation, restaurant, gift shop and cooking classes.
They believe in creating measurable impact. This shows what their community of staff, students and visitors give back to the environment and neighboring villages. It teaches the next generation how to live sustainable and with respect for our heritage.
It is situated in Innpawkhone Village, Inle Lake, Shan State, Myanmar. The only access to the site on the lake is by boat, located along a channel leading to several of the weaving and craft workshops in Innpawkhon Village. You can take a bus, train or flight to get to Inle Lake.
You can stay at Inle Heritage Stilt Houses which are built on strong wooden beams and have sweeping views of lush green hills. Inside, you will find deep, luxurious beds, traditional Shan paper and locally woven fabrics. In 2013, there were 6 stilt houses,being built by locally sourced wood and raw materials, and with local carpenters to preserve their skills and know-how.
In 2017,they opened 4 new rooms to welcome visitors around the world. In order to lower environmental footprint, they made new buildings with reused timber from old houses around the lake.
You can get a wide range of services as solar-powered hot shower and organic toiletries with bathrobe and slippers,queen-sized double bed, free WiFi, complimentary water and fruit basket, tea and coffee, binoculars and 'Birds of Myanmar' guidebook, air conditioning,pool access, safety box and boat transportation.

For the short trip, you can visit to Innpawkhone Village (Lotus & Silk Weavers), Nampan Village (Boatmaking, blacksmith, cheroot factory), Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Floating Gardens (Kay la), Ywa Ma Village (Gold & silversmith, Shan paper & umbrella making), Nga Phe Chaung (Jumping Cat Monastery). you can also visit to Thaung Tho pagoda and monastery, Indein Temple, Main Thauk and forest monastery, Samkar Village (Tha Kaung Pagoda), Kakku pagoda complex.
