The most convenient way to visit Upper Egypt is to take a Nile cruise. They are mostly 3, 4 or 7 nights long going from Luxor to Aswan and vice versa. There are approx. 300 ships but the best best is to go with a branded line such as Movenpick Royal Lily or Royal Lotus.
 +
During the cruise the ship stops in Luxor, Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan. From the ship you go on excursions to the museums and temples in each town. Staying a few extra nights in Luxor or Aswan can give you time to see what was not included in the cruise package.
