: I have to agree on not liking the "respect" section. But mostly for the first paragraph and the line "for someone who has not been exposed to such pervasive diversity and acceptance, it may come as a shock." While I agree most races and sexual orientations are tolerated I hate to admit that people aren't open to all sorts of ideas. If you're a conservative/Republican/Bush supporter don't expect citizens to be so accepting if you voice your opinions. Also if you have moral objections to certain behaviors (gay marriage, marijuana use, abortion) you won't find this same level of acceptance from locals. I just think this section overstates the level of tolerance of San Franciscans.
