Lao Airlines [1] flies from Wattay International Airport (IATA: JHG, ICAO: ZPJH) to Xishuangbanna Gasa Airport (IATA: JHG, ICAO: ZPJH) twice a week (Fridays and Sundays).

Xishuangbanna Gasa Airport, the first-class national port, the second international airport in Yunnan province, is an important trunk line and medium-sized hub airport in Yunnan. Located in Gasa town, about 4 kilometers southwest of Jinghong city. Existing navigable cities: Beijing, Shanghai(Hongqiao), Guangzhou, Xi'an, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Hefei, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Taiyuan, Nanchang, Tianjin, Kunming, Lijiang, Shangri-La, Dali, and Tengchong 20 domestic airlines, Bangkok and Luang Prabang two international airlines.

Trekking in southern Xishuangbanna. There are a number of cafes in Jinghong where you can meet up with guides who will take you on treks to see old Dai and Bulan villages in Southern Yunnan. Cost varies, but plan on about ¥300 per person for a four day trek.

The treks are pretty easy, since you will be staying in villager's homes every night along the trail. There's no need to camp, and the terrain you'll be hiking over is hilly, but not mountainous.


Dai flavor dishes have exclusive reputation in Yunnan Cuisine, the local residents most are Dai in Xishuangbanna. Dai flavor dishes give priority to sticky rice, sour, roasted meat and aquatic food, spices are based on wild cultivated plants, with a unique ethnic flavor.

Among Xishuangbanna cuisine, the most representative food are "Nan Mi", Blang dishes, Hani dishes, barbecue, moss, Suansun boiled fish (or chicken), lemongrass grilled fish, fragrant bamboo rice, fried fern, fried moss, pineapple rice, various types of barbecue, etc. These names most tourists have not heard before, really worth a try.

You can eat delicious Xishuangbanna food at the night market, in addition to the above specialties, the herb chicken, bamboo rice, roasted bamboo rat, steamed moss eggs, raw chopped cooked chicken, duck feet, bamboo worms, fried cow leather, fried pig skin, and other ethnic flavor food, best meet Chinese southerners' taste.

Local bamboo sticky rice or bamboo rice, only cost 2- 5 yuan to be full.
