Numerous scenic villages and a landscape of surprising natural beauty await the traveler who is touring the peninsula of Sithonia.

Among the significant locations of the area is the small village of Agios Nikolaos. Most of the residences here are built following the traditional Makedonian architectural style and a number of archeological sites in the surrounding area give a clear impression of the history of the area.

To the south lies the village of Nikiti. The traveler may visit the churches of Koimitiriakos Naos- built during the 16th century is decorated with fine frescoes, and the Byzantine church of Elias, located near the village of Neos Marmaras. In the village of Vatopedi the monastery of Evagelismos Sto Vatopedi, and the 18th century traditional buildings and residences offer a rare traditional atmosphere.

Further to the south, on the coast of the Agion Oros bay, lie the sea resorts of Vourvourou and Sarti, both characterized by scenic landscapes and golden-sand beaches.

On the Sithonia coast lies the internationally famous Porto-Karras Hotel compound. One of the biggest in the greater area of the Mediterranean sea, the compound is built amidst a beautiful rural landscape. Part of the compound's grounds are also the vast vineyards of the area, famous for the fine quality of the wine that is produced here. The facilities of the compound are impeccable, a perfect match to the exquisite beaches and fine climate of the area. The nearby resort of the village of Neos Marmaras offers a few somewhat more modest facilities but which once more are accompanied by exquisitely beautiful golden-sand beaches. 85.73.166.193 12:25, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
