San Pedro is in Belize.

Understand

San Pedro is in the south part of Ambergris Caye. The island is a picture postcard setting beside the clear turquoise sea. Coconut palms sway and rustle in the gentle cooling trade winds. Low rise hotels, guest houses and boutique style resorts & condos, from modest to magnificent, are nestled along the coast and throughout the town.

Get in

Once you arrive to Belize City take a taxi to the Water Taxi Station. There are water taxis to the island almost every hour the whole day long. You can also take a domestic flight from Belize City to the island, there are flights that leave to the island almost every hour as well.

San Pedro Island offers a great variety of reef types and amazing diving and snorkeling experiences.

The Carnival in San Pedro Belize that takes place in February. The carnival celebrations in San Pedro on Ambergris Caye are the most famous ones in Belize. Every year San Pedro's Carnival takes place for 5 days during the week before the Lenten Season begins on Ash Wednesday. The festivities allow all participants to enjoy one last time what they relinquish during lent: meats, liquor, and partying. The Carnival festival will offer you live entertainment, diverse cuisines, as well as the chance to get to know authentic traditions and to dive into a cultural experience of its own kind. You can get to San Pedro very early once you arrive to Belize City by taking a domestic flight or a taxi to the water taxi station and then a water taxi to the island. If you are planing on coming from Guatemala there are daily shuttles from Flores island.
