  • Centro. The historic centre of the town offers an excellent demonstration of Portuguese architecture, preserved by Brazil’s heritage trust.
  • Museu Nacional do Mar. Tells the history of Brazillian navigation through replica model ships, included is a replica of the ship in which the navigator Amyr Klink sailed across the Atlantic from Africa.

Boats leave regularly from the city centre to see the diverse islands of Baiada Babitonga (situated between São Francisco do Sul and Joinville).
