Paris/15th arrondissement

Default Banner.jpg

The 15th arrondissement of Paris is located in the south-west of the city on the Left Bank of the river Seine.

The 15th, the largest arrondissement of central Paris, remains heavily residential, up-market and quiet - not a great deal of obvious attractions for the traveller here.... Several sights, however, might make a detour worthwhile. Especially of note is the fact that meeting a real parisienne might make it worth the trip.

By Métro

  • Porte de Versailles [1] - Paris' international exhibition centre (the 4th largest in Europe) has millions of visitors annually

  • Musée Pasteur (Pasteur Museum) [2] (website is French with a link to English), Institut Pasteur, 25 rue du Dr-Roux, Métro: Pasteur, open Mo-Fr 2pm-5.30 pm, closed weekends and public holidays, August, entry €3, students €1.50 - the Pasteur Museum is housed in the apartment where the great scientist spent the last 7 years of his life. Hardly touched since that time, the museum is full of personal memorabilia and scientific instruments. Pasteur is buried on the grounds in a flamboyant mosaic-decorated mausoleum.
