Palanga has a beach, but it is very crowded in summer, since all Lithuanians come to their short coastline. Amber museum is also interesting. When you have seen Palanga, come to Liepaja, a city in Latvia just 60km north of Palanga, where you will find much more space in the beach, because there are no such crowds and the beach in Liepaja is bigger, wider itself. Lots of historic buildings and a unique former secret military town of Karosta.
A large proportion of householders in Palanga offer rooms to let at very cheap rates. Simply look for signs offering accommodation.
