By bus
The bus station can be found in the centre of Palanga, is small and relatively user-friendly. Minibuses leave from the front of the bus station in Klaipėda every 20 minutes from 06:50 until 22:00.
Getting to town You're in it. If your hotel is further than walking distance from the station, you shouldn't have any problem finding a taxi, many of which congregate around the station. Make sure the meter's running before you set off.
By road
On the main road from Klaipėda find a multitude of cars parked along the side of the road, all displaying signs of varying levels of complexity, and all containing one common word, kambariai (rooms). If you've come unprepared you may like to stop and chat. Palanga is 25km north of Klaipėda, and can be reached quickly and easily. Parking should be done in designated areas only.
By taxi
To get by taxi from Klaipėda should cost you not more than 50-60Lt (remember, you are a foreigner, for 25km locals would pay less). In palanga taxis are cheap. Find them waiting next to bus station or call tel. 517 77.

Palanga is a popular seaside resort at the Baltic sea in Lithuania. Palanga has over the years been of major strategic importance, no importance whatsoever, part of Latvia, and up until the mid-19th century and subsequent invention of the seaside holiday, a small fishing village. Modern Palanga is a year-round health resort, but is famed more for what happens during the short summer period between the beginning of June and September. During this time the population balloons from a regular 20,000, to 100,000 or more, especially during the weekends. A hotbed of hot people, sunbathers and all-night party animals, Palanga is the number one Lithuanian hedonist institution.
