The Adaman Sea is famous for its diving opportunities. Many companies based in Phuket and Khao Lak offer day trips as well as liveaboard trips to the Similan island and Surin island while companies. A few companies based companies based in Ranong can also offer trips to Burma for trips of 3 to 7 days. At the same time Thailand’s least populated province and most heavily forested, this mountainous province is lush and green and is blessed with natural wonders on the land and sea alike.

On the west coat of Thailand, Ranong is well surrounded by lush mountains and benefit of a clement weather while in the East hills are covered by a thick jungle thanks to the heaviest rain fall of Thailand.

The jungle host many species of animal and birds made accessible to the visitors thanks to lovely path to wander around. And what better than a waterfall to freshen up after a nice walk? Maybe a hot spring? Ranong has it all!

The mangroves, on the coast are also alive with wildlife and ideal for a kayak trip.

The city of Ranong has the busy athmospher of any border town and benefit from Chinese influence from the past mixed with the Burmese flavors: colorful markets, women in sarongs, golden make-up on their cheeks, food stalls with new delicacies all along the streets.

Ranong Province also include sixty-two islands with white sand beaches, unspoiled forests, and refreshing waterfalls, many of which are incorporated in national parks or wildlife sanctuaries. Surprisingly, this region stayed off the crowded trail. Out of these island paradises, Koh Payam is truly the undiscovered pearl of the Andaman Sea, just enough development to make your stay comfortable but to keep a long white sand beach for yourself. Imagine a bungalow on the beach, some hornbills and see eagles flying around, clear blue sea, coral reefs, it's the perfect place to really get away from it all. Only 1 hour boat ride from Ranong, its relax atmosphere is sure to seduce you. The local population made of fishermen and friendly cashewnut farmersand you might sight some sea gypsies living in the area.

Ko Chang, its neighbor is even more quiet with only 80 homes on the entire island. Like Ko Phayam, you get there by boat in less than an hour from Ranong Pier.
