The North Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area lies north of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is probably best-known for being the home of Napa Valley, America's largest wine producing region, and for Marin County, which is a forested, coastal area. It is the northernmost part of the Bay Area.
The name "North Bay" comes from its location in the north of the San Francisco Bay Area and separates it from the East Bay and the South Bay, which are each on their respective sides of the San Francisco/San Pablo Bay.
