Naran is a popular tourist resort in the Kaghan Valley of Pakistan. There is a most beautiful and enchanting lake by the name of Saif-ul-Malook which is almost 9 km away from Naran. It can be reached by a Jeep in 1 hour. Naran is a very nice place for trekking.

Road passes through Glaciers and corkscrew turns. the excitement is immense. Some like to visit the the surrounding beautiful lakes. Naran can be approached on car, jeep or bus from Islamabad capital of Pakistan. A motorway upto Mansehra will be available in 2018 but present a very busy two way road called Silk Road takes the traveler via Hassan Abdal (50 kms) and Abbottabad,(70 kms) a serene and beautiful town, to Mansehra (40 kms) in 3-4 hours max. From Mansehra the road to Naran turn right from the main Silk Road and travelling through the pine forest of Battrasi, it winds down to the bank of Kunhar River and hits Balakot (48 kms), a historical town. Balakot is on the entrance of the Kaghan Valley at a height of 2900 feet. Now the road winds up through the valley passing through beautiful small villages like Kawai (24 kms, 4799 feet), Paras (5 kms 4900 feet), Mahandri (18 Kms, 5000 feet) and reaches Kaghan (15 kms, 6,688 feet), a small town with all facilities for the tourists. Naran (15 kms, 7888 feet) is next town with extensive facilities for the tourists. Its in the center of the Kaghan valley which ends at Babusar Pass (70 kms, 13,700 feet).
