Nachiketa Taal during the monsoons.

Nachiketa Taal is situated 30 km east of Uttarkashi town in Uttarakhand. The lake is believed to be the meditation place of Nachiketa, a protagonist of Hindu mythology, where he also realized his Moksha.

Reaching ThereEdit

The lake is situated at an height of 7500 feet midst a desnse oak forest. The 3 km trek for the lake starts from Chaurangi Khal, 30 km from Uttarkahsi. Due to near absence of public transport on the given route, hiring a taxi from Uttarkashi is highly recommended. The taxi should charge you around Rs 1000 to and from Chaurangi Khal.
