Moon Township

Default Banner.jpg

Moon Township is in Allegheny County near Pittsburgh.

Moon Township, along with Robinson Township is one of the two suburbs a traveler might find themselves if staying at an airport hotel around Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). Though often associated with Coraopolis because of the shared zip code, they are distinct towns bordering each other. It is an upper-middle class town whose original growth was based on the US Airways hub at PIT. The township is most often simply referred to as Moon.

Get in

Though extremely close to PITt, there are no direct buses. If arriving at the airport and an airport shuttle is not available, the best options would be a taxi or Super Shuttle.

The G3 Moon Flyer bus runs between downtown Pittsburgh and the Park and Ride, located on the top of University Boulevard in Moon Township.

Get around

There is very limited bus service on University Boulevard.

There is heavy traffic and not many sidewalks so walking isn't encouraged.

Other than standard American suburbia, there is not much to see other than Robert Morris University.

Besides the fine selection of food, there is little to keep you in Moon.
