Middelburg is in the capital of Zeeland. It is an old city and the centre has a small canal ringing about half of it. This is lined with boats and cycleways and is very nice to see and also quite Dutch looking. The centre is dominated by a large square where markets are often held overlooked by a large townhall. Around this is the shopping area, most of which is pedestrianised.
Slightly further out from the centre is the shipping canal connecting Veerse Meer to Flushing. The train station is also located on the far side of this.

DrinkEdit
In the central square to the South side of the town hall there are two pubs with outdoor seating covered with a large canopy. These seems to be the place to be in Middelburg during the evening and appears to be very popular.
SleepEdit
There is a hotel called "Hotel de Nieuwe Doelen around the city centre. There are also a number of excellent cafes around the City. Try De Mug for the best Belgian beer selection this town (or this region) has to offer. It's a few blocks from the market, but is a little cheaper and comes with a better selection. In the summer, every night except Monday will provide you with plenty of opportunities for beer and wine for those so inclined.
