Middelburg is in the capital of Zeeland. It is an old city and the centre has a small canal ringing about half of it. This is lined with boats and cycleways and is very nice to see and also quite Dutch looking. The centre is dominated by a large square where markets are often held overlooked by a large townhall. Around this is the shopping area, most of which is pedestrianised. Slightly further out from the centre is the shipping canal connecting Veerse Meer to Flushing. The train station is also located on the far side of this. Get inThere is a rail link to Middelburg connecting it to the rest of the Netherlands.
