What does (+427) mean?[edit]

The number contained within parenthesis indicates the number of bytes that were added to or deleted from an article. As an example if you see (-5627) this would be a good indicator that a lot of information has been removed from a page and is likely vandalism. -- Sapphire 23:24, 21 February 2007 (EST)

Hey, that's nifty - Cacahuate 02:05, 22 February 2007 (EST)

Recent changes patrol[edit]

Can we remove the note about recent changes patrol from this message? At this point all admins should be familiar with this feature, so it should no longer be necessary, and removing it will unclutter Special:Recentchanges somewhat. -- Ryan 14:18, 4 March 2007 (EST)

I don't see any reason why we still need it, so go ahead. -- Sapphire(Talk) • 00:54, 9 March 2007 (EST)
Done. Hopefully that won't kill the cache... -- Ryan 01:15, 9 March 2007 (EST)

Seems sensible, but we should make sure to point it out to new admins as they come on line. -- Bill-on-the-Hill 21:55, 9 March 2007 (EST)
I say we write up a handbook. I'm sure there was something that we wish we had all known when we started out, preferably without the issues of experimenting. -- Sapphire(Talk) • 22:01, 9 March 2007 (EST)
We could just start with this and expand. There isn't a whole lot extra that administrators need to know as of now. — Ravikiran 22:05, 9 March 2007 (EST)
