Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and Day, admission £3.70, concessions available - first established in the Norman period, when the city of Lincoln ranked 3rd in the realm for prosperity and importance. Building started by William the Conquerer in 1068 on a site occupied since Roman times.
