Lake Chatuge

Lake Chatuge is an area of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northeastern Georgia, bordered on the north by North Carolina. It surrounds and takes its name from the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) electric generation reservior located here. This area became a resort destination soon after the lake was constructed and is now one of the fastest-growing areas of the region.

Other destinations

The Appalachian Trail passes to the south very near to Lake Chatuge and the nearby town of Hiawassee, Georgia, is a favorite stop-over for many hikers on the trail.

Many retirees have moved here from Florida to escape the heat of the summer and hurricanes, but the area is being discovered by more and more people from other areas of the US all the time.
