Kuwana (桑名) is in Mie.
Trains heading south towards Yokkaichi and Tsu all stop at Kuwana. Both JR (330 Yen one-way) and Kintetsu (430 Yen one-way). On the Mie-Rapid trains, it is typically the first stop.
- Kyuka Park. A short walk from the centre of town. This park and water course even boasts it's own outdoor Sumo rink.
- Nagashima Spa Land. The next stop on the JR line between Kuwana and Nagoya, is Nagashima Spa Land. This venue is an amusement park and a shopping outlet mall that hosts one of the world's largest rollercoasters. In summer the amusement park also has various waterslides on offer.
To return to Nagoya, it's as simple as catching a JR or Kintetsu back up there (30m on the Local JR trains, 20m on the faster Rapid trains, 20m on the Kintetsu). Or you could continue on to Yokkaichi or Suzuka (home of the Suzuka Circuit) to the south.
