Hongcun (宏村) is a village in Anhui, China. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Hongcun was built by business men from the once famous trading group - Huishang(徽商) about 500 years ago. Because of its special geographical location and ingenious local culture, most of the architectural specialties of that period have been preserved. The layout of this village takes the shape of a cow, with its famous ancient drainage system plays the role of 'stomach' and 'abdomen'. Gutters covered with grey flagstone spread into every alley in the village which is centered around Yuezhao(月沼)- the moon shaped water pool.
