Snow Mountain from the west side

Giant Mountains are in Poland and the Czech Republic. They are part of the Sudetes. There are a proved beautiful scenery, national park and winter centres.

The highest mountain is called Snow Mountain - a mountain on the Polish-Czech border. It's 1602 metres high and it's the highest mountain of the Czech Republic. There is a bizzare restaurant and a chapel on the Polish side. The Elbe River starts near the border - it's the longest river which starts in the Czech Republic.

At the Giant Mountains, there are a lot of important towns and villages for example Karpacz, Szklarska Poreba, Jelenia Gora, Kowary, Trutnov, Jablonec nad Jizerou, Špindlerův Mlýn or Harrachov, where you can stay.

Village Harrachov is in the west part of Giant Mountains in the valley of the Mumlava River. It's a good department of winter sports and resorts. Also there is a cinema and some music clubs. A dominant of this town is a huge jumping board.

Szklarska Poreba is the biggest sport center and spa at the Polish side, although Karpacz is also very popular.

There is a popular myth about the protector of the mountains called Krakonoš/Liczyrzepa.

In the Giant Mountains, you can do paragliding, ride a bike, and there is a boathouse on the Elbe dam; you can fish here and play tennis and squash.
