Get Around

  • Fort Necessity National Battlefield, [1]. The park site also includes Mt. Washington Tavern, Jumonville Glen and Braddock's Grave. Vastly important bits of history but not a whole lot of interactivity to experience.
  • The National Pike Wagon Train Festival, [2]. Each year in mid-May a reenactment of the wagon train proceeds west down the length of the National Road.

  • Nemacolin Woodlands, 1001 Lafayette Drive Farmington PA 15437, 724-329-8555, [3]. 5 star resort: huge complex including Woodlands Zoo, Lady Luck Casino, a Jeep/Hummer Off Road Driving Academy and the Spa. You must spend 10$ at the resort to enter the casino. Massages are fabulous but definitely pricey, also includes full use of the spa for a day.

  • Summit Inn Resort, 101 Skyline Drive Farmington, PA 15437, 724-438-8594, [4]. Overlooking the summit of route 40 over Uniontown. Also has a restaurant and a treehouse.
