Get around

The village of Dornie is situated about 200m off the main road, and many visitors only go to the Castle on the other side of the road. It's only 5 minutes walk between the two.

  • Eilean Donan Castle - a real picture postcard castle, it sits on it's own small island about 50m into Loch Duich, reached by crossing a stone bridge / causeway. Remodelled several times into an 'ideal' castle, it is well worth a visit, with some interesting rooms and exhibits.

  • Go hiking[1] - this is one of the best areas for walking in Scotland.

  • There is a fairly good cafe in the Visitors Centre
  • Pubs in the village itself.
