Bass Lake is a flooded Dolomite quarry located South of Johannesburg, close to Vereeneging, with a 10 hectare surface area. An entrance fee is charged to divers. Air fills are available on site, as is Nitrox, and diving gear is available to rent. There is a restaurant, ablution facilities, and a number of lapas available to divers. Camping is permitted, however the main gate is locked overnight.

Water is fairly warm, however there is a noticeable thermocline at approximately 8 metres. The water is very still, with no waves. Visibility is poor, from 6 metres down to 2 or less after much diving during the day.

The lake has a maximum depth of 22 metres. There are several grids in various locations. This lake is used primarily as a training location for Johannesburg-based Open Water diver training schools, along with Miracle Waters.
