Total Area:28 square miles

The City of cranston is bordered by both the City of Warwick and the Town of West Warwick (south), and the Town of Scituate (west). The beautiful Providence River provides 3 1/2 miles of shoreline which open up to Naragansett Bay.

Driving directions from airport: Follow signs to I-95 N. Once on 95N take exit 16 towards Cranston (Rt.10). Take the US1/Elmwood Ave. exit and keep right on the ramp to go towards Park Ave. Take slight right onto Elmwood Ave and follow road 0.7 miles before taking a right onto Park Avenue... welcome to Cranston!!

Governor Sprague Mansion: 1351 Cranston St. (401) 944-9226

  • As the birth place of two governors, and the former home of the prominent Sprague family, this house is the heart of Cranston. The home was built in 1790 and, with the addition in 1864, there are twenty-eight rooms total in this historic site. Intriguing features include the Carrington collection of Oriental art, fully restored parlor & sewing cabinet, and authentic carriage house and stable which houses antique carriages, wagons & more!   • The J.L. Curran Management Area is made up of 332 acres which are perfect for hiking, biking, and bird-watching. There are two ponds located here where you are able to take out the canoe, do a little fresh water fishing...or both!


Washington Secondary Bike Path

  • This bike path, also known as the Greenway among Rhode Islanders, is approximately ten miles long and runs through the cities of Cranston, West Warwick, and Coventry. Many areas are heavily shaded, and there are several areas for fresh water fishing along the Pawtuxet River. Parking is available on Exchange street abutting the path.

Twin Oaks 100 Sabra St. (401) 781-9693 (Italian) The gem of Rhode Island Italian Cuisine. Hidden in a neighborhood which is difficult to find, this place is worth the search. Excellent service, and fair pricing. The food will never leave you wanting for more. Family owned and operated since 1933 this is a wonderful place for events with seating for up to 600. Recommend the Baked Scrod (biggest piece of fish of any resteraunt around ALWAYS, the chicken parm, or the house chicken wings. Simply delicious.
