Corvallis is in Oregon about an hour and half south of Portland.

Get in

By car

Take I-5 South to the I-34 exit or exit 228. Head down 34 about 10 miles and you will cross a bridge which leads you into downtown Corvallis. You can also turn left at the last light before the bridge and that will take you into Southtown Corvallis.

By train

The closest Amtrak station is Albany, some 15 minutes north by car. Some shuttle bus services are available.

Get around

  • The City of Corvallis also has a few Transportation Services, that you can use.
  • Oregon State University offers a Saferide program to get around when it gets a bit too late to walk home by yourself.

Want to visit the Oregon State University campus? The campus is located between 14th and 30th and West of Monroe St. Oregon State has a beautiful campus with many buildings being over a half a century old. Make sure to check out the MU and Dixon rec center located in the middle of campus just off of 25th and Campus Way.

  • Even though it might be tough to find something to do in Corvallis, there are some places where you could go see a movie. The best places to go to a movie are the Carmike Cinemas or the Regal Cinemas on 9th street. If you bring your student ID you can get in to either location for 6 dollars. There is also the Dark Side Cinema downtown, which offers less mainstream flicks in a small theater setting.

Most of the shopping is in the downtown area between 2nd and 4th street. There are many stores including:

  • Miss Mieres An upper class shoe store that sells a variety of brands like BCBG Girls, Nine West, and Two Lips. It is located right next to Noah's Bagles on 4th and Madison.
  • Kaari K An upper class clothing store, a lot like TBD at Nordstroms. They have great brand names like Juicy Couture, Seven For All Mankind, C&C, and Paige Denim. It is located on 3rd between Madison and Monroe.
  • West Moon A well rounded store that sells things from clothing to candles! A great place to look around but also has many affordable things to buy! It is located on 4th right next to Platinum.

  • Nearly any fast food restaurant you are looking for can be found on 9th St.
  • If you are looking for a sit down restaurant you can head to Ruby Tuesdays or The Gables, both located on 9th St. Another option is heading down to 2nd street right across from the river you can find Big River another sit down restaurant in Corvallis.
  • Near Big River, there is a wonderful Chinese Restaurant with great prices called China Delight.

On Thursday Nights, Platinum has the biggest crowd

On Saturday nights, Cantina has 80's night, and that draws a lot of people

Other bars in town to enjoy: The Endzone, Tailgators, and Clod's
