Conway is a town in Texas Panhandle.

Get in

Conway is a tiny community on I-40 about 15 miles east of Amarillo. Farm road 207 connects it with Panhandle to the north and Claude to the south.

Get around

  • VW Bug Ranch, (Southwest corner of Exit 96 off Route 40). Always accessible. Five Volkswagon Beetles buried nose down in the ground. Similar to the Cadillac Ranch in nearby Amarillo and the upended tractor equipment at Canyon. Free.
  • Route 66 remnants - A number of dilapidated ruins of a former gas stations, café, and motor lodge provide some interesting photographic opportunities.

  • Conway Inn & Restaurant, 9696 Interstate 40, 806 537 5127.
