Cloudcroft is a city in New Mexico. It is the state's second largest city, with a population of approximately 82,671 (2005 Census estimate), and is the site of New Mexico State University.

Get in

Cloudcroft is located at the junction of Highways US-82 and NM-244. The nearest airport with commercial air service is in El Paso, Texas, about 96 miles away. Commute to Cloudcroft from nearby Alamogordo entails going through New Mexico's only Tunnel and driving through High Rolls/Mountain Park.

Get around

Cloudcroft has no public transportation, excepting horse and horse-drawn carriage rentals. Plan to drive and know that 4-Wheel Drive is helpfull.



Golf at the Lodge or Ponderosa Pines. Hiking and camping galore. Cross Country skiing, inner-tube rides and snow-mobiles!


Burro Avenue has several lovely shops featuring friendly service. Instant Karma. 302 Burro Ave, 505-682-2651. Wonderful yoga-studio and shopping experience for clothing, accessories and books.


Rebecca's at The Lodge. One Corona Place, 866-595-6343. Exquisite dining featuring wonderful chef's, live pianists, old-fashion feel, beautiful views and rich, mysterious history.

Big Daddy's Diner. 1750 James Canyon. A local favorite with a laid back atmosphere.


The Western Bar and Restaurant. 300 Burro Ave. 505-682-2445. Friendly staff, friendly locals and the local watering hole.
