Cintsa is in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. This small village about 40 km east of East London has become a backpackers magnet and offers nice beaches and two excellent hostels.

Whoever knows the reason for going to Cintsa may let`s know. But probably it`s the combination of 1) being off the beaten track, 2) two great hostels, 3) fines beaches and 4) a special relaxed atmosphere. So this is the place to spend some days doing nothing and relax before whatever comes next.

Get in

Cintsa is a Baz Bus stop on it`s way from Port Elizabeth to Durban. Both hostels offer transportation to East London where you can catch a bus from the main companies.

Eat & Sleep

  • Buccaneer`s Backpackers (Tel. 043 – 734 3012) is probably the source of Cintsa`s fame and offers not only accommodation but several activities
  • Moonshine Bay (number unknown), for those who don`t want to party all the time this is a good, more quiet alternative
