Canyons and the Cariboo is a region in the central interior of British Columbia, Canada. It is an area of contrasts with the dramatic gorges and whitewater of the Fraser Canyon giving way to the gentle rolling plains of the Cariboo Plateau.

• Bowron Lakes Provincial Park - famous for its canoe and portage circle route.
• Fraser Canyon - Two railways, the Trans-Canada Highway, and the Fraser River make their way through this narrow canyon. Home of Hells's Gate.
• Siwash Lake Ranch - Canada's top luxury dude ranch and eco-friendly destination for horseback riding and fly-fishing adventures, provincial demonstration site for clean energy technologies in remote BC (solar power & hot water)
• Tweedsmuir Provincial Park - British Columbia's largest park is thousands of square kilometers of untouched mountains and lakes.

This area was first made famous by the 1858 Fraser Canyon gold rush, news of which spread as far as San Francisco, bringing over 30,000 hopefuls to the essentially uninhabited area. No less than three more lesser gold rushes brought prospectors even farther north, and gave birth to many of the communities as they are today.
