Bugnara is a small town in the Abruzzo region.

Get in

There are buses and trains every day.

Trains run from Sulmona and the bus stops on the way from Rome to Scanno.

Coming from Sulmona there are about seven local buses a day.

Get around

Bugnara is small enough to walk around.


Small streets and alleyways
  • Church of SS. Rosario. Dates from 1602 in the late baroque style beautiful relief ceilings.


Walk about, have a coffee in the Piazza.


Market stalls in the Piazza, wait for the vegetable, meat and fish trucks.


  • The very humble La Falena restaurant is open in the summer.
  • Pizzeria by the town hall


  • Have a coffee or a beer at the bar on the Piazza.


Plenty of B&Bs and private houses for rent.

Get out

  • Bike ride to Sulmona or walk up into the hills.
