Boulder City is a city in Southern Nevada, near the Hoover Dam.

US Route 93 connects Las Vegas to Kingman (Arizona) via Boulder City.

Get around


  • Hoover Dam, Route 93, east of Boulder City, [1]. Daily 9 AM-6 PM. The world's largest dam when completed in 1935, and instrumental in generating power and providing irrigation via Lake Mead, creating behind the dam. The visitor center and the elevator to the viewing platform above the dam are free, but access into the dam itself requires joining a guided tour. Parking $7, optional guided tour $11/9/6 adult/senior/children 7-16.


The popular Nevadan pastime of gambling is not allowed in Boulder City.




Alcohol was banned until 1969, but is now available.
