Blackpool is a seaside resort town in North West England.


Over 6 million people visit Blackpool every year. It is Britain's number 1 tourist venue, although Brits will deny going there.

"Oh I do love to be beside the seaside" played for years every day at the Tower Ballroom Blackpool by Reginald Dixon on his Wurlitzer.

Get in

The M55 motorway is a specially built motorway linking the M6 to Blackpool. The trains run to Blackpool North station from Preston and many other destinations. Blackpool has its own airport and regular flights from Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Get around

Trams ply for trade all along the sea front. Taxis are available easily. Have a donkey ride on the sands.


  • Blackpool Tower. All Victorian and a massive copy of the Eiffel Tower naturally enough its called Blackpool Tower.


  • Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Feature's Britain's biggest roller coaster ride, "The Pepsi Max" (also known as the Big One).
  • The Winter Gardens.
  • The Piers. Blackpool has 3 piers.


A stick of Blackpool rock and a mandatory "Kiss Me Quick " hat on Blackpools Golden Mile.


Lots of budget eateries abound.



A plethora of accommodation awaits you.From budget B&b's to the top of the line Blackpool Hilton and The Imperial.

Get out

Take a tram north to Fleetwood. A now redundant fishing town. Visit its famous market and go to the outlet mall called "Freeport"
