Bihar  is among India's poorest states. It lies on the Gangetic plain, with Uttar Pradesh to its east, West Bengal to its west and Nepal to its north. Jharkhand, the mineral-rich tribal belt, was part of the state, but in 2001, it was split to form its own state.
Its connected to all major cities of India by a number of Trains. Some good trains to reach the capital - Patna are as follows :-

Bihar is not the safest state in India. Avoid venturing out in the night time, travel only in groups and keep a low profile here.
Trains traveling through Bihar are more prone to theft, it's wise to lock your luggage to the seat in the carriage and keep more aware than usual.
