Bear Lake has the nickname "Caribbean of the Rockies" because the lake has an intense turquoise blue color. It is primarily a tourist area with the summers being more popular than the winter. The economic hub of the area is Garden City, Utah.

The Salt Lake City International Airport is 125 miles from Bear Lake. Follow I-15 north to Brigham City and continue north on US-89 through Logan into Logan Canyon.

Do

Bear Lake is most frequently visited as a lake for boating, waterskiing, and riding seadoos. The surround hills have trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, ATVs and UTVs.

During the winter the area boasts 100s of miles of top rated groomed snowmobile trails. Also nearby is the Beaver Mountain Ski Resort.
